This superhero, residing in Gotham City, is incredibly cool. With his combat skills that can get your adrenaline pumping and his iconic Batmobile, Batman is a fan favorite.
Several Batman movies have been released to date. They're all impressive, even comparable to the legendary Superman movies.
Following the massive success of the Batman comics, the first Batman film was produced in 1989. Since then, several Batman movie titles have been released, with another one set to premiere next year.

1. Batman (1989)
The first Batman film was released in 1989. Initially, Batman was introduced through comics and TV series, and then he was officially brought to the big screen.
This film tells the story of a criminal named Jack Napier, also known as the Joker. He aims to overthrow Grissom, the head of Gotham's mafia organization, and take his place.
Not only does Napier want Grissom's position, but he also intends to kill Grissom because Grissom's wife is Napier's girlfriend. Grissom, aware of Napier's evil plan, sets a cunning trap for him.
During Gotham City's celebration of Harvey Dent's appointment as district attorney, a confrontation occurs between Napier and the police. The situation intensifies as Batman joins the action.

2. Batman Returns (1992)
The Batman sequel continued in 1992 with the release of Batman Returns. In this second film, Batman faces multiple powerful enemies simultaneously.
In this film, a megalomaniac businessman named Max Shreck is obsessed with taking control of Gotham City, Batman's home.
To fulfill his ambition, Max Shreck teams up with the Penguin, a psychopath with a dark past.
Besides Max Shreck and the Penguin, Batman also has to deal with a dangerous female villain named Catwoman.

3. Batman Forever (1995)
Batman Forever was not directed by Tim Burton, who instead served as a producer for the Warner Bros film.
In this movie, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, is portrayed by Val Kilmer, replacing Michael Keaton from the previous films.
Batman Forever tells the story of two major criminals, Two-Face and the Riddler. They seek to extract secret information from every mind in Gotham City to uncover Batman's identity and take over the city.
Unfortunately for them, Batman discovers their evil plan and works to thwart their efforts.

4. Batman and Robin (1997)
In the 1997 film Batman and Robin, Batman is no longer fighting crime alone. He is joined by his ally Robin, who also possesses superpowers. Hence, the film is titled Batman and Robin, as it features two superheroes fighting crime together.
Their enemy, Mr. Freeze, is not to be underestimated. Mr. Freeze has the ability to freeze anything he touches.
One day, Mr. Freeze attempts to rob a bank in Gotham City, but his evil deed is foiled by Batman and Robin.
Angered, Mr. Freeze vows to take revenge on Batman and Robin. Will his revenge be successful? Watch the movie to find out.

5. Batman Begins (2005)
Seven years later, Batman Begins was officially released. The fifth Batman film has a very logical storyline without any exaggeration.
Batman Begins tells the origin story of Batman. As a child, Bruce Wayne witnesses his parents' murder right before his eyes.
During his journey, he meets Ducard, who invites Bruce Wayne to join a community fighting crime in their own way.
Ducard trains Bruce Wayne rigorously to become a superhero, teaching him both hand-to-hand combat and weaponry skills until Bruce Wayne becomes Batman.

6. The Dark Knight (2008)
The Dark Knight depicts Gotham City under the threat of a terrorist named Joker.
Batman, Jim Gordon, and District Attorney Harvey Dent team up to capture Joker. However, this won't be easy, as Joker is a cunning and ruthless criminal.
Joker is determined to destroy Batman. He continues killing Gotham City's residents, declaring that he will stop only if Batman surrenders to him.

7. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Batman film series continues with The Dark Knight Rises. Released in 2012, this film is set eight years after the brutal attack by Joker.
Batman is accused of being a criminal by Gotham City's police, as he tries to cover up the crimes of Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face.
At the same time, Gotham City faces a serious threat from a villain named Bane. Bane tests Batman's mental and physical limits.
Bane's strength is almost equal to Batman's. The battle in this film is thrilling and worth watching.

8. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the first film to feature two DC Comics superheroes, Superman and Batman, together. It was released in 2016.
The film explores Batman's concerns about Superman's reckless fighting while battling General Zod. Unintentionally, Superman destroys much of Gotham City.
Angered, Batman confronts Superman. Their fight is not just a showdown between two superheroes but also a reaction to Superman's actions that caused many casualties in Gotham City.
Behind the confrontation between Batman and Superman is a villain named Lex Luthor, who orchestrates the conflict.

9. The Batman (2021)
Although The Batman will premiere in 2021, there are already teasers about the film. In this movie, Batman will investigate a series of murders in Gotham City.
All the murder victims are killed in strange ways, making it difficult for Batman to identify the mastermind behind the killings.
Additionally, Batman's old enemies reappear, forcing him to face multiple foes simultaneously. The strength and intelligence of the caped crusader will be put to the test in this ninth Batman film.
The Batman is highly anticipated, but fans will need to be patient to see the ending. The film is set to release in 2021.
Bruce Wayne in The Batman will be played by Robert Pattinson, who previously starred in Harry Potter and Twilight.
